Heya! Short update this time (I hope... I intend), because I don't have a particular topic I'm planning on talking about.
Well, let's just do some lightning quick updates on various topics! Buckle up, this is gonna be a fun presentation.
- I'm getting better at CSS and HTML! It's been so rewarding seeing this site take shape, even if I probably should get a new background (does the contrasty black and gold seem incongruous? I picked it in a rush because I was just so excited to do this. I like the green palette I have currently so if they clash the bg's gotta go)
- Currently reading: The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman. I really like the whole TMC series and I've been holding off on this book because I know I wont be able to stop myself devouring it in one go—and I'm on vacation so that would be a shame. Still, I've sneaked a peek at the first few chapters :P
- Also reading: King Lear by Shakespeare; it's been on my shelf after an impulse buy (thank you, If We Were Villains, for making me permanently obsessed with Shakespeare) and I finally started on it while in the airport waiting for my flight. I'm still surprised I can understand what's being said—to… some extent—but it's a great story so far!
- Listening to: old episodes of The Unbelievable Truth because that's what I downloaded for the flight. When Lee inadvertently called/spoiled the "Lady with the Limp" punchline (and sounded so apologetic too) I nearly lost it. Also, David and Lee are such a good combination because they—for the lack of a better description—just utterly annoy each other, in a good way. I found them off Would I Lie to You? and loved them since.
- Working on: a song; it isn't finished yet— just kidding, that's a reference to Hadestown. Sorry, I couldn't help it. Speaking of references, though… my brain has the annoying habit of remembering quotes / references and pulling them out at every opportunity. I still can't see the word 'lyre' without going "I also play the lyre. / Oh, a liar and a player too! I've met too many men like you". Did you catch the BDG quote up top? It's from the Unraveled live at PAX East, because the Perfect Pokérap is, in fact, perfect. I love it so much.
- Which, I suppose, means I'm listening to: The Perfect Pokérap. Seriously, it's fantastic. The whole presentation, the build-up, the process… totally worth a watch and many re-watches. Add in the planned theatre kid pictures gaffe—an element of a good E3 presentation, as Unraveled (tm) in another Unraveled… what I'm saying is I love Unraveled and think on it fondly and often.
I believe I have discovered the draw of running a personal blog: I get to yell about things I like and no one is going to come in like, "what are you talking about??" because GUESS WHAT. YOU'RE IN MY HOUSE. I get to do whatever I want.
I never said what I'm working on, did I? It's nothing much, mostly trying to relax and have fun over the Christmas holidays. It's kind of cold, to be honest.
See you soon,
— PX.
